Workers Vanguard No. 937

22 May 2009

On USSR, Korean War and Nukes

(Letter)

Tokyo
2 May 2009

Dear Comrades,

The article on “Defend North Korea!” in WV No. 934 is good. But I think there is a missing point in the article. The U.S. imperialists wanted to use nuclear bombs during the Korean War. Their war drive was critically stopped by the successful nuclear testing of the Soviet Union. The possession of nuclear weapons by the Soviet Union was important at that time. The founder of the Japanese Kakumaru group, Kanichi Kuroda, began to think of the “third camp” theory of “Anti-imperialism, Anti-Stalinism” against the successful nuclear testing of the Soviet Union.

Comradely,
H.T.
